As part of Audiograft 2012 Sarah Hughes has curated an exhibition of new works by Manfred Werder and Ben Owen. The exhibition has been co-curated by Patrick Farmer who will respond to the works of Werder and Owen with a curatorial intervention. The three paper based works deal with 'the intrinsic reality of a situation', and question the phenomenological assumptions we make concerning our reception of space. They each find a point at which the refinement and expansion of the artist's (each also a composer, and/or musician) understanding of  silence and vacuity reaches a balance between material and immateriality.
The third issue of Wolf Notes, a journal edited by Compost and Height, will be published alongside the exhibition. This issue has pieces from David Stent, Julia Eckhardt, Will Montgomery, Dominic Lash, John Pisaro and an annotated discussion between Michael Pisaro, Antione Beuger and Manfred Werder which took place at the launch of last years Cut and Splice festival in London. The discussion is chaired by Will Montgomery.
This exhibition is part of Audiograft, an annual festival organised by the Sonic Art Research Unit at Oxford Brookes University. Polyproject: Poetry as Score is presented courtesy of Polyproject, Sound and Music and BBC Radio 3.
The exhibition is supported by Arts Council England, SARU, Oxford Brookes University, Prohelvetia: Swiss Arts Council, Swiss Cultural Fund in Britain and Audiograft.
